Spring Concert May 2022
We were delighted to sing to a full house at our Spring Concert in Banchory Town Hall. Our programme reflected several of the themes upper most in many people’s minds as we come out of the rigors of the COVID pandemic. Resilience, gratitude, peace. Our songs, chosen by our musical director were both reflective and uplifting and seemed to find a ready response from our audience.
As usual, we were very pleased to be able to showcase some local young talent. Gemma Ramsay played some beautiful tunes on the cello and added some percussion to several of the choir’s songs. Nikki Homer sang some very entertaining songs from recent musicals.
A few laughs and a bit of audience participation lightened the atmosphere further and a couple of hours later we all left the hall a little happier than when we went in.
Chairperson, Stan Jastrzebski reporting to the AGM, said:
‘The sold-out Spring concert is fresh in our memories and audience comments were along the lines of “your best show ever”. Highlights included excellent local Young Talent (and didn’t we sound good with drums!), as well our own soloists and Shona’s recitals. The raffle raised over £500 for Ukrainian refugee support. What a great day’s work by all of us – the whole membership and match-day volunteers!”
